Smart homes becoming more popular in Vietnam
As the apartment market in Vietnam is becoming saturated, real estate developers are trying to improve competitiveness of their products by integrating smart home technology. With smart device prices on the decrease and convenience on the rise, the smart home market is expected to develop rapidly with the growth rate of 20-30 percent per annum in the next 10 years.
Vietnam’s plans for Smart City projects
Vietnam is pushing for smart city programmed to improve municipal management and boost the economy!
Vietnam’s cities and provinces are pushing for smart city programs and combining technology with internetconnected devices to enhance municipal management and boost the economy. According to MIC, smart citiesare a driving force for the socio-economic development across the country. Vietnam has over 830 urban areaswith an urbanization rate of 38.6%. Economic growth in urban areas averages 12-15%, 1.5-2 times higher than the national average. About 30 cities and provinces nationwide have implemented smart urban construction projects.
However, according to MIC the current development of smart cities is still inadequate. Some localities have starteddeploying some basic applications and services for smart cities. Also, ministries and agencies continue to research and complete building guidelines, mechanisms, and policies for smart cities.
